Bonedigger, bonedigger!
There are little bits and pieces of songs and movies and books all stuck in my head. They’ve been there for some time, some longer than others, and I’m not sure why these lines are so sticky. Right now, it’s:
-Paul Simon saying “And all along and along there were incidents and accidents, there were… hints and allegations.”
-The Dude saying “Far out, man, far fuckin’ out!”
-David Foster Wallace’s line that “past a certain point, impressiveness is corrosive to the psyche.”
-The crunching guitar riff from “The Ocean” by Led Zeppelin
-Pretty much the entire song “I Can Tell” by White Denim
-Richard Feynman’s phrase, “Cargo Cult Science.”
-Quicksilver Messenger Service’s line “Oh, god! Pride of man! Broken in the dust again.”
So it’s a pretty odd mishmash in my mind.
